Infinite Light
“Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite
power of our light.”
power of our light.”
I’ll be 39 this fall, and lately when I look in the mirror, I can see little details that seemingly weren’t there the night before. A faint line appears near my mouth, the skin around my eyes feels the slightest bit thinner, and new freckles spot my forehead. But I don’t mind the changes; truth be told, I find myself somewhat comforted by them. These last few years have been ones of remarkable transformations, and I feel even more whole knowing that my physical appearance is an outward reflection of that strength and growth. My face is still warm and soft, and my hair a wild, untamed crown of curls, but I look... older. And interestingly enough, looking older has given me more confidence, the ability to claim my space, and the desire to raise my voice. So today, in the evening sun, I captured that presence. I didn’t edit or filter - I simply welcomed the infinite light that I’ve so rightfully earned.
